In part 2 of this series, we talked about how you learn best.  We addressed different learning styles including auditory, visual and tactile.  Regardless of your learning style, experience shows that your ability to use all three styles in your learning improves your chances of success.

Visual Study Aids

You’ve no doubt heard the old saying “a picture is worth a thousand words.”  Pictures can be quite instructive.  They also give us an image we can associate with a new concept or idea.  Our minds store information largely with images.  By using pictures when learning new concepts, you are able to visualize the information you’re learning.  This improves recall when you need it on your exam.
