Knowledge Management Series

knowledge

Today we begin a series of blog posts centered on Knowledge Management. Today’s culture and workplace thrive on knowledge. The old adage says, “Knowledge is power.” But knowledge can only be translated into power if it is organized and applied.  At American Water College, we believe that “applied knowledge is power.”

Lead-and-learn

Organizations that allow their wealth of knowledge to go unmanaged are less effective. An organization that is able to capture, store, and retrieve knowledge effectively is then capable of learning as an organization. A learning organization is one where employees are empowered to change and develop new skills, methods, thoughts, and strategies that will advance their organization.

Knowledge Management is a system that captures knowledge purposefully for incorporation into strategies, policies, and practices at all levels of the organization. When it comes to knowledge management, any organization is able to implement this simple strategy. Let American Water College help you develop a strategy to capture your organization’s knowledge.
